Götterdämmerung

I got my unoa sist faceplate back from Gen today. Normally I'd be spamming you all with photos but I unfortunately don't have the wig I ordered for her over a month ago in a LeeKe group order and nothing here suites her at all. I'll post the preview pictures I got before she was shipped back to me however. I might try to take photos anyway depending on when I get the mermaid skirt and black and white one piece I ordered from Tanya Style (since I think the black dress would look perfect on her.

I should be sending Jomi (aeon flux of dive's seimei head) off to her shortly but I need to take pics of his old faceup since I want the same type of look for him. His current faceup is done by Sairin, and while ideally it should've never been touched.. the glue that held his eyelashes on ruined the underlashes, and the paint used on his lips were staining the resin (not to mention in a hideous color). Tried to remedy the lips myself but I just couldn't get the color I wanted right. I can use an airbrush, and it would've been easy if I got the color I wanted right the first time. The more I had to wipe it off the worse the original faceup got since the blushing, especially on the face was everywhere. Now he's lipless and everything else is still in tact for the most part but I rather not mess with him anymore. I can't find Mr. Super Clear anywhere and while I do have Mr. top coat around, it doesn't have the tooth MSC has and I really need that to work with.

I can imagine how upset some people (with the collectors mindset) could possibly be since I altered a Sairin faceup, but I'm this particular Seimei's 4th owner (that I know of), and he's not going anywhere. I probably killed his value but his head alone cost more than I paid second-hand fees for my complete L-bi and I figure I should be happy with him.

I probably won't post him in all his lipless glory until I get the after pics and do a whole comparison thing and all. I really need to get him some good permanent eyes before long. His eyewells will not hold eyes in for anything. The eyes are always constantly falling into the back of his head no matter how much putty you use. When I get some good ones they're getting hot-glued in.

Also I decided to do NaNoWriMo this year, I wanted to do it last year but it was half-way through November when I got the urge so I deceided not to. I'll be writing about the characters/story behind my SD sized dolls (Ivoine my kill-u sp and Jomi), it'll be norse mythology inspired, just like most of my dolls' names and hopefully writing 1,667 words a day for the whole of next month won't kill me. This month I'm going to try to get an outline done to make things easier on myself.

Less hours at work, Michigan raising income tax, and having mostly saved money towards Unoa Zero since July I'm going to have to pass on two of the dolls I've really been wanting.

I've loved Jenn's Fei for the LONGEST and I wish I could snatch him up since she's taken the dive to sell him. But I don't have 250 to spend on his head, even if I do pass on buying the blythe I wanted I still don't think I'd have enough. I went from not being able to get an off day if I wanted to... to getting 3 in a row this week. And because all of this horrible tax business in Michigan being effective immediately I'm going to feel the hit on my very next check. I already get at least 1/3 of my measly checks taken out ever bi-weekly payday. I don't even know if I'll be getting the $172 left I need to have all the money for my Unoa Zero, let alone enough to even get the blythe I want.

Also it seems the other blythe I want (Princess à la Mode) is about 400 dollar at least on the second hand market. As much as I love PAM, I don't ever want to pay as much as a ball jointed doll for a blythe! (I mean she's not even a vintage Kenner blythe). I love her hair color,style and her default outfits.

I don't know anyone who customizes blythe dolls and I don't really want to crack into it myself (although truth be told compared to bjd faceups it looks simple enough to customize a blythe). Re-reooting seems like a pain and I don't know anything about it, from where to buy the hair or tools or even where to start. I just want to buy them as-is and enjoy them as they are but these prices make it very hard for me. I might have to do some research.

Also, Unoa Zero results. The paper actually says that the winners could be announced *anytime* between now and the middle of the month. I probably would've noticed this had I chose to believe it myself ;~; at least I'm thinking I will definitely have ALL the money I need for her by then. Times like this I really envy those with credit cards and nice jobs that buy dolls whenever the opportunity arise. But then I doubt I'd love them as much as I do.

Unfortunately as well, I just noticed I started the month on a total emo note! ORZ

I'm only putting the Momoko on layaway because the Unoa Zero lottery results for the first tier are announced in the next few days. I put in 2 postcards so my odds are decent in my mind to at least get one (needless to say that if I win twice I'm screwed however..) and if I had realized that the results are only days away I wouldn't have spent 100 dollars on doll clothes ;~; I have enough to the point that if I absolutely need to borrow any money from my mom I can easily give it back on my next paycheck. Thats given if I only win once though! I don't have a credit card or anything to throw a doll purchase on, so I'd have to find someone (outside of DOA since they don't allow selling of dolls you don't have on hand) to pay for her. I'd like to have two, but I don't even have anyone that will pay for her and let me pay them back for it (which would take like 1 and a half to 2 months to do).

My magazines being held up in Customs in Chicago for days make me angry! Chicago is only 4 hours away from here and its only paper ;~; please don't let my magazines be beat up when they get here!

Is anyone familiar with Lynsey of Cross Pistols Aesthetics? I've been using (and have been very happy with) Gen of EngelMech's work, its cheaper (65 for cross pistols, 40 for engelmech), the waiting list is shorter (10 people currently in cross pistols' "in progress" slots and I'm 7th in line in the reservation slots and Gen just lets me send my doll heads in to her anytime) and not to mention that Gen is stateside and Lynsey lives in the UK. Should I wait and send my airbrush tanned Kill-U sp to Lynsey since she does use an airbrush and can probably touch him up in case she messes up, and some of the tan comes off? Gen doesn't do airbrush faceup, but if she did I don't think I'd have any doubts and send all my dolls to her. Regardless of the fact if I send my Kill-U to her, I'll probably send her my Seimei head if don't have any dolls heads that need to be done when my turn hits

I don't know... I just feel like all my Unoas get all the playtime (which is because they have the most clothes and new faceups of course). I'll probably end up waiting but I'll rant all the same. I'm probably only thinking about this because I want to send another doll off to get a faceup ASAP and the only choices are my pipos baha, seimei and my lusis yawn (which would have to wait because my lusis isn't here yet for them to match)

I surely didn't ask for much, which is what probably made it easier, also it was just one head this time and not two but I got the preview pictures today and I was so pleased I said something to the effect of "OMG TAKE MY SIST NEXT". Which was running through my mind earlier when I was gathering pictures of my current dolls and dolls on my wishlist and I realized yet again that very few of my dolls are "complete".

I'm going to end up sending all my dolls to Gen the way it seems now... I was on two waiting lists for faceups. One is so Ivoine (kill-u sp) would get a long overdue faceup and I'll probably keep him on that list even thought there are 10+ people ahead of me and most of them have more than 2 heads they want done (also she's twice as expensive as Gen AND living overseas in the UK) and someone else for my sist who isn't even currently working on commissions right now and I'm the 4th or so on her list.
