I did a quick photo shoot earlier of Frei in my favorite Tanya Style dress (I really need to buy more clothes from Yui..) and a tinybear wig. But looking at the pics makes me think it might be time for a body blushing re-do (I'm trying to put it off till my Unoa Lusis gets here though). Also I really really need to get glass eyes for my dolls.
I haven't found a way to get around how vox ALWAYS makes me keep a title on my images. So I'm just keeping the image numbers for now since trying to fit a phrase to every single photo is time consuming and annoying.
Now... to watch Code Geass and eat grapes.
Show us something you own that is from a different country.

This is too easy.. all my dolls are from Japan or Korea.
I feel as if my doll photography has gotten worse. It is mostly because I rush it, which is mostly the fault that I've been working closing shifts in 5 days in a row marathons. My first off day I end up wasting by sleeping in all day, the next off day I end up having a few hours of fun just to have to get into that grind again of having to get ready for work the next day. Its hard to go to sleep as soon as I get home, and I am definately not an early bird. Seems like all I do is sleep and work...
I can also attribute it to the fact that only 2 of my dolls have a fully completed faceup. Gonbe and Esa.
Gonbe only has a few props, he's tiny and he's stark white. He comes out washed out in most of my photos. I have no idea how to properly take digital photos of something that is white without having to use a plain white bg for the contrast to not wash him out. I need to look up some photography pointers or start using my film camera.
Esa, I've taken plenty of pics of her, she has more pictures on this log than any other doll. She was on my header for a while and probably will go back on there since this layout is pretty but I wish I could customize it further. Also she isn't very versatile, even though she's awfully pretty. She also doesn't have her own wig or eyes, and I don't really have much to choose from in that department since I'm always rushing to save up for a preorder or layaway and can't take my time with doll purchases. I did manage to buy 2 pairs of eyes and a msd sized wig in the last 48 hours though so hopefully I can remedy at least that much.
Together... well they don't look so hot lol.
I'm not going to try to get more time off until I have enough for the Unoa Zero. I will be taking the 9th of next month off for my 2 month anniversary with the boy... which will be spent going to Ann Arbor to spend money on cute Japanese things, spending his money not mine of course, lol. I'll probably look for some re-ment for gonbe, or anything to scale with my dolls since as much as i love cute san-x stationary and japanese snacks I can't forget about my babies.
I try to stay away from the DOA Debate subforum since people get pretty heated and snappy about somethings even when it starts off as a light-hearted discussion.. but someone asked if dolls were to make up for something in your personal life... and I've been thinking very hard about it. I'll post my conclusion when I come up with one I guess.
Jenn (thesaraghina @ lj & DOA), is buying SD13 girl Cristal (on the left) and she ended up having to split for the body, wig and eyes since she just wanted the head. I ended up caving for the eyes which are HG 18mm pale purple with white lines. It will be a bit of a wait on these since the doll isn't even for sale yet. I don't know if either Jomi or Ivoine will use these eyes or if Hrist (the Unon I'm hoping for!) will sport them.
I also found the August issue of Hobby Japan magazine on ebay, it was about 8 dollars cheaper than what I paid for the September issue and since I paid for USPS priority shipping I'm assuming the seller is stateside so I can get it by Thursday/Friday of next week at the latest. I got some of the September issue scanned, the Unon/U-noa Quluts Zero faceup tutorial and a handy tutorial of how to make your own doll eyelashes. The lottery info for the Unon is being sent to a native Japanese citizen to translate since I don't have the confidence with my own skills for the sort. Once the faceup and eyelash tutorials are done they will be posted here, I also need to finish my series of airbrush tutorials but I may need to get a new fluid nozzle before then.
I also send a PM to a DOA user about a wig and eyes that are u-noa size, so that Aish, Esa or Frei might get a new look. I'm still looking for a faceup artists in that regards...
Need to order some MSC with my next check, I'm going to want to reseal Gonbe (pipos baha) soon after he gets home since I heard the paws get a lot of wear and tear. I'm glad he already comes with a face up, and that is was included in the price. I would probably be easier to give a cat a face than a human doll however. Getting him blank cost the same as with a face up so there was no way I was getting him blank.
I already wrote up his profile, which will go up when I have a picture of him to go along with it. He's going to be Aish's (u-noa sist) companion... after I give her a new face up that is.
When looking up personality traits for Gonbe's astrological sign (cancer) I also ended up looking up at lot about cats that I didn't know before. In real life I'm not a cat person at all, so it really shocked me that I fell hard for a ball jointed one. Personality wise he's not going to be like any cat I've ever met... but it really helped his profile write itself. (I even have a few photo stories in my mind as well)
I haven't taken any new doll photos in a while, so I'll be glad when Gonbe gets here ready for action, directly out of the box. No fussing around with wigs or clothes... thats probably what really pushed me over the edge about him. But until then, I'll be tiring out my Flickr account as well as the photo manipulations I have stored on my computer.
I avoided posting in the save/wait thread at DOA about my progress or lack there of, its easier to be in there supporting other people when you're not rushing to meet a deadline (the deadline for payment of the u-noa preorder is the 16th, Japan time).
I can't wait till the kit gets here, I feel like I can't do any photostories since all my dolls are of different sizes or they share bodies with other dolls. Ivoine and Jomi are SD sized, Ivoine (kill-u sp) is tanned and Jomi (seimei) is beauty white, so Jomi can't share Ivoine's tanned body and I have to get him his own. I do try to take pictures of Ivoine along with the u-noa (as the picture shows), but while standing up, they only come up to his waist and that looks horrible. Gonbe (pipos baha) is a tiny, so he'll probably come up to the waist/chest of the u-noa, but since he's a cat that will look ok. Until I get Gonbe, I only have 2 full dolls and 5 floating heads at home. I think its very possible I'll try to get another doll after Gonbe, and before Esa's body and default faceplate (not just a sleepy/orgasmic girl anymore!) get here. Most likely a 43cm Narae, since I was planning on getting one before the u-noa bug bit me. She'll be very expensive... seeing as I'm going to order the doll, classic faceplate (with a faceup by Kim Kyu Yuen, which will be 100+ extra), then another blank head, some wigs, and probably some clothes if there are any new tanya style clothes I like (and I'm a sucker for her style).
All my dolls still need wigs and eyes though, permanent ones. And option hands, too. This hobby is so expensive...
